I am a lover of all things MAC and often reach out to their beauty products for affordable and long lasting beauty / makeup supplies!
I’ve used their makeup products for years and years and have never found any products that match their quality in terms of colour, usage, affordability & actual content!
I’m going to talk about a few MAC products I’ll continue to purchase and some staple buys I’ve purchased and never will replace!
I’m going to start with my two main brushes I’ve purchased from MAC, including the 209 eyeliner brush and the 187 Duo Fibre face brush!
|| MAC – Makeup Brushes ||
In terms of quality and usage, I’ve tried a lot of different foundation brushes and eyeliner brushes out there from Bobbi Brown, Nars & Real techniques but the precision and quality of the brushes at MAC have impressed me. I’ve managed to use these two brushes, the 209 eyeliner brush and the 187 Duo Fibre brush for over 4 years without having to replace them.
The benefits of using a good brush, will save you money in the long run. With the right care and cleaning your brushes can last up to 6+ years! I often clean my brushes on a weekly basis using a makeup cleaning gel and leave them overnight to dry! This will ensure all the hair fibres are clean, and protected from germs that can generate from a lot of application!
|| MAC – Gel Liner ||
Using my 209 eyeliner brush, I’ve picked the best suitable gel liner to compliment the usage of the eyeliner brush. I’ve found that the quality of the MAC and the lasting nature of the gel liner is just amazing. I’ve had my gel liner for about 2 years without it running out or drying out! & I can safely say that I use it about 3-4 times a week & it hasn’t run out yet! Using the gel liner I’ve found that the 209 brush will allow you to create a combination of different eyeliner styles, from winged liners with its precise pointed brush tip and even a thick / thin eyeliner stroke!
***A helpful tip to consider when applying your eyeliner would be to wet the eyeliner brush first to dampen the brush hairs and then to dip it into the eyeliner pot. This will enable you to create smoother strokes and glide across the eye with ease! Wetting the eyeliner brush before will release the solid nature of the gel and help make it more liquid based.
|| Select Sheer Pressed Powder ||
I’ve probably spoken about this particular MAC Product the most across all of my social media platforms and have confessed my love for it on numerous occasions! 😛
I have never loved a setting face powder as much as I loved this one. I believe that the select sheer powder is perfect as each shade is catered to your specific skin tone. Usually with loose powders and setting powders you’ll have 3 options ranging from light – medium – dark, but with the MAC range you’re spoilt for choice as each powder colour is catered to your face type. I use NW20 as I have pink undertones to my skin and the NW range caters to my skin tone!!!
The Select sheer powder will set your foundation in place and leave your skin looking matte and flawless. I’ve used this as a foundation setting powder and the powder includes a suede finish sponge that I can use on the go when I need to touch up my oily t-zone! The compact also includes a mirror so you can use this on and on, and take it with you on the go :)!!!
