|Coloristiq| – Rental Nail Polish Service

photo-85

I am very excited to share with you all my latest discovery in the world of Nail Polishes. I’ve discovered a really great company named Colorisitiq, that Rent out branded nail polishes for a period of 30 days.

I’m a huge fan of nail polishes, and so I buy a lot of them. You could say I’m a nail polish collector :). However, when buying my polishes I don’t take into consideration that I won’t get much use out of them, and they would dry out in the long run!!! 😦 Then that wouldn’t justify the price I pay for each bottle in comparison to how many times I actually use each one. (Bare in mind I probably spend about Β£5 – Β£15 on one nail polish ).

So what I love about the Coloristiq Nail Polish rental service is that, they provide a selection of 3 (On Season/ Trend ) Branded polishes that you can use for 9 paintings (meaning two coats each) which will probably provide you with 3 wears depending on how many coats you use when applying your nail polishes over the period of 30 days.

I think this idea is genius. If I do say so myself!!!

|| How the Coloristiq Nail Polish Rental Service works ||

You have to create an account with Coloristiq and create a wish list of the polishes available on the Coloristiq website with the nail polishes you have your eyes on!

You have a variety of High end Brands available at Coloristiq, with the availability to select nail polishes from Β O.P.I, Essie, China Glaze & Morgan Taylor.

You will then receive 3 polishes (from the ones you chose in your Wish List) & you can use all the polishes for the period of 30 days. Bearing in mind you can use them for 3 applications meaning you can use each polish once (over 2 coatings) over 10 nails :)!!!

& then once your 30 day period is over, you can then place the prepaid returns label onto the box & return the polishes, ready for your next 3 to be sent out to you!!!

It couldn’t be easier than that, now can it?!!!

|| What comes inside the box ||

You will receive a box of 3 Branded nail polishes, all protected in wraps & sometimes you will receive an added nail art decoration!

On this occasion I was beyond excited to receive an extra set of Nail diamante that I can add to my nail polishes.

Β an Instruction guide of how many uses you can get out your nail polishes and how Β to post them back ready for your next polishes to be delivered to you.

The Box comes with a prepaid label so that you can quickly send them back without the hassle of going into the post office :D! Very convenient.

|| In Regards to the Hygiene level of using Used Polishes ||

Through writing this blogpost it has been brought to my attention about my reader’s worries in regards to the hygiene of using the ‘used’ polishes! So in response to this I have actually contacted Coloristiq with this query & the lovely team behind Coloristiq, ensure that each bottle is inspected and sanitised before sending it out to the customer & have kindly stated the following:

‘ The chemicals, especially solventsΒ found in nail polish (ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, tosylamide) kill all bacteria inside the bottles so there is nothing to worry about. Sharing nail polishes is pretty much the same as going to a nail salon and using one of their products.

We treat the hygiene issue very seriously, therefore in order to ensure that we are maintaining the highest quality standards, each returned bottleΒ is beingΒ inspected and the outside of the bottleΒ is sanitised with a powerful industrial disinfectant before itΒ is admitted back to stock. ‘

I definitely recommend this Rental Nail Polish service & will use it again!

Here is some nail art I created with my lovely polishes!!!

  1. Cuteeeee 😬😬 lovely post I’m well into my nail polishes atm 😏😏 xOx

  2. Omg, you look so cute in the last picture & I love the nails! Such a great idea to rent nail polishes πŸ™‚ xxx

  3. I love the idea of this and the polishes you received are gorgeous πŸ™‚
Just wondering, are the products that get sent to you used or brand new? πŸ™‚

    http://www.stylesunrise.co.uk

    x

    • I absolutely agree with you πŸ˜€ I love the idea of it, I believe that through this service you’ll receive a used polish. However, that being said in terms of my sample the products were new! I think it depends on the demand of each nail polish & whether it has been more popular over other ones :p! I hope that helps lovely ❀ xoxoxo

    • I can imagine they are used, so that the bottles are frequently used by other subscribers and not stand around to dry out. This is how I would explain the purpose of the service, however it would be interesting to kow how the company handles hygiene in this respect x

      • I will actually get back to you both on this one. You’re definitely right & I haven’t considered that aspect yet. I will see how the hygiene & health is handled in respect to the multi purpose nail polish usage ❀ thanks lovelies! xoxo

      • Hi Lovely, it’s me again! πŸ˜€ I emailed the lovely ladies behind Coloristiq in regards to the hygiene & they’ve kindly emailed me back with a page to their FAQ’S Which led to this:

The chemicals, especially solvents found in nail polish (ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, tosylamide) kill all bacteria inside the bottles so there is nothing to worry about. Sharing nail polishes is pretty much the same as going to a nail salon and using one of their products.

We treat the hygiene issue very seriously, therefore in order to ensure that we are maintaining the highest quality standards, each returned bottle is being inspected and the outside of the bottle is sanitised with a powerful industrial disinfectant before it is admitted back to stock.

      • Oh thank you so much Serene for this and all your effort you made in getting back to us with the information x

      • You’re welcome btw if you did want to use the services you can use my discount Code: Serene1 to have your first months box for free πŸ™Š theres more about it on the end of my blogpost & you’re welcome I’ve also added a section on hygiene in the post as well (definitely an important point) so thank you honestly for bringing it up for me to discuss πŸ™‚ πŸ’‹πŸ’— xoxo

      • Ah no worries Serene any time! That’s what (blogging) friends and comments are for πŸ™‚ Would love to try out the service but not in the UK atm I’m afraid 😦 Hope you are well and have an awesome weekend so far x

      • the UK misses you 😦 thanks for being an awesome Blogging Friend πŸ’—πŸ’•β€οΈπŸ’—πŸ’‹πŸ™Š!!! I’m very well thank you! How are you doing? & I hope you have a wicked Weekend ☺️ πŸ™‚ xox

  4. In the long run this could work out really well. Especially as their service comes at a price of Β£15, which one bottle of Nails Inc polish usually costs. I think it is also a great way to discover new brands and try and test them out before you buy them at Boots yourself. You chose great colours for your post and your nails look cute with the little dots. Also very generous of the company to send you some additional nail art decor. Definitely a big plus and worth having a look. Speak soon xxx

    Caz | Lunch Break Adventures

    • Thanks so much Caz, I definitely agree with you on the fact that this way you can always try until you buy & theres 3 colours to use from. So in a way you’re getting to try out all the different colours until you’re happy & then you can go ahead and purchase a colour for yourself. I Love the concept of this purely for the fact that you are opened to a world of different polishes & I’m glad you agree with me on this Caz πŸ˜€ & thanks for the lovely comment on my nail art, it’s the first time I experimented with nail art & hopefully will not be my last hehe πŸ˜€ xoxox

  5. Awesome tutorial, Serene! I had a chance to try China Glaze polish last year. Sadly, the polish didn’t last me more than 3 days :<
    Luxury Haven

    • No way, I’m sorry you hadn’t had much luck with China Glaze. Honestly for me (with the addition of a top coat) mine have lasted for about 4 days so far! I hope they will last longer. I will update you with my results!
      xoxo

  6. Hi lovely πŸ™‚
This service looks amazing I’m just intrigued by one thing, how do they know you have used it only for 9 paintings?

    • Honestly, I don’t think they would know if people have only used them for 9 paintings! However, some people will abuse this rule & over use it. They state the rule as a fair rule policy to help everyone get more use out of the polishes! I just hope everyone does play fair & let everyone use them! :p xoxo

      • That’s why I asked, people sometimes can be selfish and If someone doesn’t respect the number of uses someone else won’t be able to fully enjoy the polishes.
I thought they had some kind of system to “enforce” the 9 paintings but in this case like you said lets just hope everyone plays fair πŸ™‚
        xoxo

      • Absolutely, but then again. Some will play fair & some won’t I guess you have to put trust into the people! I dislike it when other’s take it upon themselves to bend the rules slightly so that they can fulfil their own satisfactions! Not a nice thing lol xoxo

  7. plus+beauty27 on said:

That is so neat! I end up collecting so many polishes that just go to waste. What a great service! πŸ™‚ ❀ xoxo

  8. A great concept but the hygienne issue would prevent me from looking further into this service. Also people could easily fill up the more common colour bottles with their old varnishes and keep the new formula! Nothing surprises me anymore!! x

    • Ohhh, I definitely agree with you on that! People could definitely fill it up with different alternatives 😡 that behaviour is definitely unacceptable! Nothing does surprise me anymore these days. You’ve actually opened my eyes to a different perspective on the service. I will definitely however get back to you on their hygiene policy. :p

    • Hi lovely, I’ve emailed them in regards to their Hygiene levels and they’ve sent me to their FAQ Page! They’ve made really good points in regards to their policies Here is what they’ve said:

The chemicals, especially solvents found in nail polish (ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, tosylamide) kill all bacteria inside the bottles so there is nothing to worry about. Sharing nail polishes is pretty much the same as going to a nail salon and using one of their products.

We treat the hygiene issue very seriously, therefore in order to ensure that we are maintaining the highest quality standards, each returned bottle is being inspected and the outside of the bottle is sanitised with a powerful industrial disinfectant before it is admitted back to stock.

      • That’s reassuring. Thank you for your prompt reply πŸ™‚ x

      • you’re welcome πŸ™‚ I’m glad I’ve helped! In regards to the box. If you are interested in trialling it the lovely team are offering my readers their first month of subscription for free. You just need my discount code: Serene1 ( but there is more info in regards to how to claim on the bottom of my post) & Also I’ve added a section about the hygiene too πŸ˜› so thank you for bringing up the points for me to discuss too ❀ πŸ™‚ xoxo

      • Thanks Hun, much appreciated x

  9. Your blog looks absolutely amazing and fancy! Great post and I love nail polishes too.. Nice colours πŸ˜€

  11. Great post and this shade is looking so pretty on your hands πŸ™‚
    GlamupGirls

  12. I love your red and white dotty nails! Also amazed that you are onto it enough to paint your nails three different colours in a month. I’ll paint my nails probably once a month and then sit and watch it flake off as the weeks go by. Total lazy girl πŸ˜‰

    • πŸ™ŠπŸ˜œ Oh My gosh, hehehehehe I probably paint my nails even more than that! Thanks Lovely it was my first experimentation with nail art :p I like the idea of different nail styles heheh! Maybe this rental service will motivate you to start painting your nails more often hehehe πŸ’—πŸ’‹β˜ΊοΈ xoxo

  13. What a lovely idea! Super handy if you don’t want to splash out on nail varnishes all the time. Was wondering whether it would be hygienic or not, so it’s good to see they sterilise them before sending them out again πŸ™‚

  15. I used to hoard nail polishes too but you’re right, I never got full use out of them. This looks like a brilliant service, I wonder if they offer it here in Canada. I would love to try it.

    Shireen | Reflection of Sanity

    • Please do let me know if you have a similar service in Canada, I’d be interested in finding out !!! & thanks so much! It’s better to trial them before you buy & they dry out! I think changing them up always is a good idea too xoxo

That’s such a good idea. I have never heard of anything like this service! I have loads of nail polishes and keep buying more so I tend to forget about my older ones and have to throw them out – I have never actually finished a nail polish before! xx

  22. This is a very cool idea – renting out nail polishes, who would have thought it!? I don’t polish my nails often these days, but it’s true, I used to buy some paint and use it once or twice only, so renting out totally makes sense.
    http://www.minsbeautyequipment.com

  23. Wow, this is certainly a unique service. πŸ™‚

  24. This service is intriguing as you are absolutely correct….I have so many bottles of polishes sitting around drying out. I rarely use a bottle more than 3 or 4 times. I also think brands need to start making much smaller bottles for half the price. πŸ™‚

Beauty Isles | An Island Girl’s Beauty and Lifestyle Blog

    • absolutely, they just sit there waiting to be used & in the end dry out 😰!!! & definitely I prefer the Mini versions of Nail polishes that way you’ll use it all without the worry of it becoming old :p like the mini Ciate polishes xoxo

  27. what an ingenious idea! I think this is just fabulous…a great way to make the most out of some nail polish…and ecological in sense that fewer nail polishes will simply dry out without being used…I always hate to see things go to waste and love everything that has to do with recycling.

That all being said, I also love this manicure created…red with white dots…how adorable!
    …and you look so pretty!

    • Hahaahha, I know some people will take it upon themselves to bend the rules which is not fair! But I’m glad they enforce a sanitising process for all the polishes :p xox

  36. I recently started discovering different nail polishes and how fun it is to change your nail color/design often. Great post! πŸ™‚

  38. That’s the smartest nail idea i’ve heard in a long while. it makes sense too – a lot of my nail polishes are slowly drying up and there’s so many times you can sit there and apply a new colour. The brands on offer are really good too! OPI costs something like Β£11.95 now, so to get three for the usual price of Β£14.49 – you could sample three OPI colours and pay a fraction of the price!
    Awesome post! πŸ™‚

    • You’re so right :p you get to trial out so many different colours for a fraction of the price (like you mentioned)!!! & a lot of my polishes are also drying up so this way I’ll save money in the long run! :p I’m so glaf you found this useful πŸ™‚ xoxo

    • Hehehehehehe, such a Great concept right, do you have anything like this in the US? Xox

      • thebeautifiedblogger on said:

Really cool idea! A couple of years ago there was something called Laquerous in the US, which was the same concept, but it doesn’t seem to be around anymore! Hopefully this lasts in the UK because I think it is a great service for someone that loves polish, but doesn’t want to own a million bottles!

      • πŸ™Š oh no I wonder why they didn’t make it in the industry! I dislike having so many polishes as they dry out 😦 !!!! It’s such a shame to waste money on beautiful polishes if they end up wasting away because you decided you wanted a new colour looool :p!!!!

      • thebeautifiedblogger on said:

Right!?!? I’m not sure why it wouldn’t have made it over here! Hopefully something of the same sort surfaces again for the US!

      • I hope so too πŸ˜†πŸ’‹ xoxo

  41. This is an interesting concept that I’ve actually never heard of before. It seems quite odd, sharing polishes like that. I am one of those who gets really attached to things. I’m having a hard time returning a book to the library.
It’s worth trying out though, I mean, if you find something you like you can always buy a new one, that’s only yours.

    https://amandaisabel.wordpress.com/

    • Most definitely! It’s a great service to try before you buy! An option that you don’t have when entering a Cosmetics store to buy products! πŸ™‚ Hahaha Oh my Gosh! I’m actually the same as you I have a hard time letting go of things too πŸ˜† xoxox

      • That’s so true, I do have a lot of polishes that looked good on the shelf, but when I got home and tried them on they were horrible!
I know, it’s awful right?! It feels like you’re just stacking up things that you don’t even need but are too sentimental to get rid of it!

        https://amandaisabel.wordpress.com/

      • Sometimes it’s hard to let go off, but if we think about the effeciency of it all, I think trialing out 3 products for the price of 1 will save you endless amounts of money ‘ if you are a nail enthusiast’ to prevent yourself from risking neglected / dried up polishes :p xox

      • Yeah! Poor student as I am this seems like a dream deal!

      • You should try the service out, & use my discount code to get your first box for free πŸ™‚ πŸ’‹!!!!
