It’s a Brow Thing

I am intrigued by the Eyebrow, because they can either frame and accentuate your features or basically if done incorrectly will take away, and distract from your other lovely features!!!

However, personally everyone has a different brow shape, and some people have very light eyebrows, some naturally thick & some non existent! << But my Tutorial & Brow Product review is dedicated to accentuating your natural brow, because as much as perfectly groomed (meaning short hair) Looking eyebrows are attractive, nothing beats a natural/ fresh looking set of brows!!!

My eyebrows are thick, maybe because I let them grow out > a lot before I began to pluck and shape them! & are Dark brown in hair colour!

I wanted to share with you two different forms of Brow Shaping / Touch up products, one in a gel form & one in a pencil.

I’ve always used Bow pencils when filling in my brows, however that is time consuming, and sometimes you really want a quick & easy one step brow filling process. So I recently purchased the

Bobbi BrownNatural Brow Shaper & Hair Touch up (Mascara for the eye brows) – in Mahogany

what is perfect about a tinted eyebrow Mascara is that it does the job of a brow pencil in half the time it would take to use the pencil & an eyebrow brush!

First I want to show you the effect it had on my eyebrows, the right being the one with the Bobbi BrownNatural Brow Shaper & left without!

& here is the swatch of the Brow Mascara!

Mahogany brow Outdoor Bobbi

1) Worries of purchasing a tinted Eyebrow Mascara will lead you to the conclusion of wondering whether it will stain onto the skin behind your eyebrows or not!!! However I can safely say, and judging by the images that this product will stick onto the eyebrow to intensify them, and make them appear much thicker & bolder.

2) The process of application is also split in half because the Mascara wand already brushes the eyebrows as the tint is transferred onto the eyebrow.

3) It is a long lasting, and fast drying Brow product! I can safely say it has stayed on my brows for longer than 12 hours at a time, without melting of, or bleeding < Sometimes you will get that effect with a brow pencil!

4) Perfect for a quick application, & will definitely intensify your brows, this is perfect for achieving a thicker eyebrow, but will not define or shape the actual eyebrow!!!

However, sometimes you also have all the time in the world to do your makeup, and you really want to highlight and define sections of your brows to intensify the shape more than the actual thickness of the brow!

That is why you need a Brow Pencil!

I’m into my Brow Pencils, and I have recently been into a very fresh & light make up brand – Palladio Beauty

The Palladio Beauty Products are all Herbal & Vitamin enriched, and are perfect for protecting and nourishing your skin when you might be wearing the makeup for a long period of time!!!

I’ve been using the Palladio BeautyBrow Pencil in Dark Brown

I love multi ended Brow pencils, because they come equipped with a handy brush to tame and groom your eyebrows in preparation for the colour!

Here is a finished look of how the Palladio BeautyBrow Pencil shaped and filled in my eyebrows!

Right being with the Brow Pencil & the left side without!!!

I’ve also included a quick Step to step guide of shaping & filling in your eyebrows mainly using the Palladio Beauty – Brow Pencil & Brush!

1) Brush your eyebrow hairs

Makeup tip: *** Before you use the pencil end of the brow pencil, please please please sharpen it, so that it will give you a crisp & clean brow line! < Unsharpened pencils will end up giving you a result that you will not be entirely happy about!!

2) Line the bottom of your eyebrow

3) Line the top of your eyebrow

4) Shade in the middle of your eyebrow ( tilt the pencil diagonally to use the side of the pencil, instead of the tip! ) This will give you a non grainy eyebrow middle section!!!

& also re-brush the hairs using the brush side of the Brow Pencil

5) Use the Bobbi BrownNatural Brow Shaper & Hair touch up Mascara to go over the entire eyebrow, and to fill in any missing sections (that need more intensifying)!!!

& then your eyebrow is complete!!! 🙂 – below is the round up of steps!

  3. I love your tutorials, you have lovely eyebrows and beautiful eyes 🙂 keep up all the good work xoxo

  4. I love your blog and nominate you for the “very inspiring blogger award”.

  5. Thank you for such an insightful post on achieving and enhancing your natural brows! I think too many people are into the really drawn on ones, when they don’t really appreciate their own ones!!!

Love this post I will definitely have a go at the products above!

I usually use a brown eyeshadow to fill in sections of my brows! But this Bobbi Brown Gel looks absolutely great for when I’m on the go & that Palladio Pencil definitely looks useful too! xxx

    • First of all thank you Nila, for the kind words!! Absolutely I love embracing your Natural brows 🙂 & glad you are comfortable within your own ones to not be swayed by those superficial drawn on – Really fine ones ( Nothing wrong with them ) I just prefer Natural ones, and being comfortable within your own ones 🙂 Eyeshadows are good for shading in sections of your eyebrows, but maybe try a brow Powder? Instead they are better at achieving the results you’re looking for & definitely do try those products! They are very great 🙂 xox

  6. Love tinted brow gels, so quick and easy. I’ve never tried the Bobbi Brown though. Lately I’ve been loving Benefit’s Gimme Brow.

    • I’ve tested the Gimme Brow One, although it does beat the Bobbi Brown One in Price difference! I highly recommend this one because, with myself I found that the Gimmie Brow stained onto the skin, more than sticking to the hairs! < the Bobbi Brown one is very long lasting!! & you're right brow gels are amazing, quick to apply !!! 🙂 Perfect for when you're on the go :-p xox

  7. I’ve been trying to make my brows look like this. Lovely post!

  10. You JUST convinced me to use brow makeup !!!!
I never in my life cared about it or paid any attention to it … Nor did I have a need for it … This is such a wonderful and detailed post .. Thank you but this might be a big change in my makeup routine 😘
